Crystal:
I am a Christian and I completely relate to the song. The song has a lot of satire in it except for the part that Trent whispers. "I would never tell you anything that wasn't absolutely true that hadn't come right from his mouth and he wants me to tell you." God's message is not for us to judge and I think Trent is saying if God could see the way some of these people who consider themsevles Christians judge and discriminate against others he probably wouldn't be very pleased.

This song depicts the aspect of the world of "Year Zero" where church and state are now one and the same, and it clearly describes the elitist attitude of evangelists, commenting on their racism ("Guess you cannot win with the colour of your skin") and blind faith ("How hard is it to see? Put your faith in me!").
