NINE INCH NAILS: UNDERGROUND: SYNTHETIC SALVATION
Synthetic Salvation is a new era industrial/electronic project. The project is based in a Fort Collins Colorado home studio. Music deals with issues ranging from perception of reality to sexuality to politics. It is partially inspired by NIN, especially the minimalism and intensity off of pretty hate machine. Songs are created using propellerheads reason, sound forge, a boss gt-6 guitar fx processor, a guitar, a bass, a studio mic, and a midi controller. We aim to create music that captures emotion through sound and allows the listener to experience the feelings firsthand. Our aim is to entertain you and we hope to be able to present this music to you all live someday when we have the proper equiptment.
Synthetic Salvation (a.k.a. Syn) is derived from very industrial backgrounds. Every band any member has ever been involved in has had deep industrial roots. The band views industrial music as a realization of the world we live in. The music reflects the increasingly industrial and electronic world we live in, as well as the problems and turmoil that increased technological advancement inadvertently harrows upon its creators. It is Ironic that while focusing on the present reality, Syn portrays a futuristic, dark, post-nuclear image of themselves. The emotional pain and image of Syn is meant to serve as a warning of what our world is quickly becoming unless it is stopped. For this very reason an instrumental entitled, "A Faith for A Nuclear Age," aired as music to bolster the emotional effects of the Hayman fire documentary on KKTV (channel 13 Colorado Springs, CO). In the words of a KKTV reporter Joanne Hobe, "[The music was used to] elevate the documentary to a higher emotional level that would in turn instill a greater sense of awe and loss in viewers."
Both members have lived too many places to call one home but both currently reside in, Colorado Springs, CO. As a guiding hand behind both concept and music Hobie Puzak and Jacob Kidd produce vocals, band artwork, percussion, programming, bass, guitar, ambience, keyboards, mixing, and analogue/graintable synth for Synthetic Salvation. Hobie and Jacob have been composing and producing their own music for years before forming Synthetic Salvation. Jacob has been involved in other bands such as Mechanical Gods, and Abscissa. Hobie has been involved in Deus Ex Machina, and additional side work involving Mechanical Gods. The music is produced, mastered, and composed at Vault 13 studios (the bands personal home studio). Hobie is currently attending Colorado State University. Both plan to pursue jobs in the music industry and enlarge Vault 13 Studios, to the level of a professional studio open to electronic musicians.
