NINE INCH NAILS: FRAGILITY TOUR REVIEWS
LOCATION george, wa VENUE gorge amphitheatre DATE june 9, 2000 SET LIST tim:
wow, what a concert! we got to the gorge campground at 5:00 and just walked around talking to all the interesting people. then at 7:00 we went down to the ampitheatre, which overlooks the beautiful columbia river. a perfect circle started at 8:00, they were pretty cool, but the band didn't seem very "into it"... maynard just kinda stood there. i guess someone was trampled or was killed or something during APC... security cleared a line through the mosh pits and carried some guy out on a stretcher, his eyes were all rolled back and he didn't look good at all. that was pretty cool. APC has a pretty mellow sound, which was reflected in the mosh pits and elsewhere... not too violent. except when they played "judith", then the crowd went nuts. they were only on for like 45 minutes to an hour, and then NIN had to set up. eventually it started... the crowd was very energetic, there was a lot of anticipation and excitement for the great show to come. they played a very well thought out set, which included (a surprise to me) piggy (i don't think they played that on fragility before... even though it's a slow song, it was awesome live, very violent and emotional). it was very hot, everyone was all sweaty, and girls were climbing all over me and stuff. trent kept telling us to pick people up if they fell down, he was paranoid that someone would get hurt like what happened during APC... well, someone did get hurt, the exact same thing happened during NIN. anyways... the light show was AMAZING, there were all sorts of cool strobe and laser effects, and the flatscreen displays behind the band added a nice touch. they showed things like the sea, with trent falling into the water, and trent walking through a field with flowers, and fire/sparks, and ripples, and all sorts of trippy stuff. the band threw glow-sticks occasionally, and i caught one :-). well this review is getting way too long (there's just so much to talk about!), so i'll just wrap up. i'd recommend this show to anyone... there was a great mix of fast and slow songs, the crowd great relationship with trent and the band (he actually said we were the best crowd he's had), and it was just a whole lot of fun. thanks trent, that was awesome!added: february 27, 2006
